Trying to get the combine running again. I took the gas tank off and cleaned the old gas out of it. Now, I've got it back on, but I can't get any gas to flow from the tank into the sediment bowl when I crank the engine over. Does the fuel pump have to be primed? Or is there something simple that I am missing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have the line full of air. By turning the motor over long enough it should bring gas through.

Good thing you didn't use my advice. You could have killed a couple of batteries with no results. LOL Sometimes the line at the bulb will get air locked and running motor will work it out. Also loosen the bowl and let it fill with gas and close it.

I probably would have given up after killing the first battery! LOL So, when you say to loosen the bowl and let it fill with gas -- is the bowl filling by gravity or would the fuel pump be filling it? If you are depending on the fuel pump, wouldn't it lose suction if you loosened the bowl? If it is filling by gravity, seems like the gas tank would have to be just about completely full? I didn't want to have to put 19 gallons of gas in there!

I see you got gas to the engine. For those who might not know those E Gleaners had a primer on the fuel pump. You grab the wire handle under the pump and pull it several times. You can feel it lose stroke as it becomes primed. Works great.
