We have a L3 and a L2 that we use, and a L2 for parts, all corn-soybean machines. The shoe on the L3 was damaged this year, so we decided to take the one out of the parts L2 to use. When we got it out and looked, it is about 6 in shorter than the one that came out of the L3. The mounting positions all work, the extra length is all in the back, and I can use the chaffer and sieve out of the shorter box. Other than maybe slightly less cleaning capacity, is there any other reason that this would not work? The other puzzling thing is that the good L2 shoe is the same length as the bad one out of the L3, so I wonder why the parts one is different? I would have thought shoe would have been the same for the L2 and L3. Has anyone ran into this, and will the shorter shoe work ?
