Glow plug question IH 424

What is the easiest way to check glow plugs to find out which ones are good and which ones are bad on this tractor?

Use a test light. Pull the wire off them. Hook the test light to the battery. Touch the light to the spade on the glowplug where the wire hooks on. If it lights, you have resistance and the plug is good. No light,no resistance and no good.

It's NOT QUITE that simple. All 4 GP's are in series, and there are in effect two terminals on each GP.

NEITHER terminal is connected to ground.

You can use an Ohmmeter. It should show "infinite resistance" to ground from either of the concentric terminals, and VERY low resistance BETWEEN the terminals, if the heating element is intact.
