GM flywheel removal ??

I have to remove the flywheel from a JD GM to replace the oil seal - does anyone have a specific method or tool to loosen the nuts? - I don't have a flywheel wrench - I can get a socket on the nut and try with a swivel and johnson bar, and the air impact, but can't get movement.
Thanks
Ken

You most likely will need a flywheel wrench. There's too much offset to use a swivel and socket. Deere made wrench for that job and you probably can find one by advertising on this site. I see them frequently at shows and flea markets in the summer.

I could not get mine to move either even with the right wrench. I used a sawzall to cut through the bolts at the slots and then removed the flywheel. After I removed the bolts I seen they were rusted badly.
