GM part unavailable

A sunroof drain on my 2009 Buick Enclave has split and is leaking water onto the fuse & relay panel behind the glove box. It has corroded the fuse panel and it needs replacing. The GM part number is 20934631 and the GM dealer says he cannot get it from GM as it appears to be discontinued. HUHH???
So I try after market places on the web and most places echo the GM line. However, I found one place on ebay-motors that said they had 2 in stock so I quickly ordered one. I've been waiting for 6 days for them to send me a tracking number as they said they would. So I phoned the supplier today and found out that the "2 in stock" was not correct as they were out of stock. What a downer! Even the local auto wrecker couldn't find one on their network. Just don't know where to turn now.

It's not just GM. We got a recall notice on our Dodge truck for the airbags so we took it to the dealer and they were able to replace one but the parts are unavailable for the passenger side.

I ordered a sun roof in my second new car. Was raining on the day I picked it up, leaked like a screen door in a submarine but it got fixed and never leaked again. Who'd cut a hole in a perfectly good roof?

A salvage yard in Terre Haute has a free
parts locating service. See if you have a
salvage yard that has similar service.

I will never own a vehicle with a sun roof again because of that very reason. those little drain tubes get plugged with whatever and the water finds its way inside the car. Besides I don't see any advantage to them. I do have a funny story about mine though I was trying to blow the crud out of the plugged tube on the drivers side and having no luck I would blow down thru then pour water in the channel to see if it went down. My wife came out to see if she could see where the tube was located under the car when the jam finally broke loose and she got a face full of muddy water. We had a good laugh after a while.

Here's another place -

There's a difference between "unavailable" and "no longer available."

Your airbag part is unavailable until more are made and stock is replenished.

His sunroof part will never be produced again. Unless he can find someone with one in stock somewhere he is out of luck.

When I worked at the dealer there is a place that only sells to dealers and they buy up obsolete parts and resell them. I forget the name of the place ? But make sure your dealer checked with them too.

(quoted from post at 19:54:48 12/13/16) Here is another.

Thanks folks for the ideas. I've tried all your suggestions but I still get the "discontinued" line, even though the web pages imply availability.
I've also discovered that if the Enclave does NOT have a towing package then there is a different part number for that fuse & relay box.
I'll try more salvage yards as I've had no luck with the two salvage yard links given above by 4play.

may try to get creative, i havent seen yours but im assuming its a rubber like line that runs down the A pillar and out the car body someplace, can you make one, or a part of one to fix it? maybe rubber vacuum tubing or if it needs to be less flexible how about truck air brake line, it comes in several sizes and also has numerous fittings

My son who is a parts mgr. at a GM dealership ran the number and says it is NOT "discontinued" but rather GM has a batch ordered from a supplier. Should be available again after an indeterminate delay.

Doug, I'm curious, how does that fuse panel get replaced, does it come with quite a bit of harness, or is there cutting and splicing involved (if you know)?

That's encouraging that GM is waiting for a backorder from the supplier.
