Golden Jubilee

(quoted from post at 18:55:05 06/20/20) Do all the Golden Jubilees have live pto? Thinking about getting one to go with my '52 8N.
ow about NONE. There was a device that could be added to drive shaft between transmission and differential that allowed for disconnect and stop motion of tractor but leave clutch engaged and PTO still running. Sort of mimicked live PTO.

NAA/Jubilees have live hydraulics.
They do not have live pto except as jmor
said, a sort of add on affair.
Many N owners confuse live hydraulics and
live pto because on an N the pto runs the
hydraulic pump so they are interrelated.

Ford tractors from the years 1953 thru 1962 look very similar while there are many different models. Here is a link to a very good archived website with identification information. The 860, 861, and 661 models have live pto.

Yes, you are correct a 660 with live pto is listed on the archived John Smith site. They must be uncommon to find today. Must be most farmers went for more power if searching out live pto when these were new. There is actually one listed on tractor house.

As far as I know, none have live PTOs except for the odd-ball dealer-installed kit. I recently removed it from my Jubilee. Too problematic.

When I was looking to upgrade from an N I met a guy that had a 660 that also had power steering. Nice original tractor owned by an older mechanic/welder/machinist type fellow.
He wouldn't sell it. I offered him more than it was worth but he liked the tractor and flat out wouldn't sell it.
That's when I expanded my search and found my first 3 cylinder Ford.
I agree that back when they were new, a guy looking to buy one that was optioned up would have gone for the extra horsepower too and bought an 860.

Thanks, I do know the difference between live hydraulics and live pto. I've just heard different things regarding the Jubilee series and wanted to hear from others. Strange thing is I just ran across a video ad for the Jubilee and it straight out said they had live hydraulics and live pto among other improvements including the more powerful red tiger engine.

Ford had what they called a "Live PTO" option. Usually dealer installed. I took mine out and eliminated it. Not really what I think of when
talking about live power, but close enough to get the title I guess.

If you are at all familiar with the Allis
Chalmers WD tractors the Jubilee live pto
system was similar to those.
They had a both a foot clutch and a hand
clutch.
