Goodyear farm handbook

Sitting around today doing nothing as day 11 with no hydro and ground is covered with snow again so cant do much outside. Decided to go thru some old papers and books and came across this Goodyear book that was put out during the second world war. It was obviosly a Canadian publication that probably came thru the Goodyear plant that I believe would have been in Bowmanville Ontario at the time? I was amazed at the good content/information that was compiled in it . Not just about tire care, but just about every aspect of maintainence on the farm. Probably partially funded by the Goverment as it sounds like it was put out to help with the war effort? Some good pics and details. Who can guess what tractor is pulling the plow? Also whats your guess on the plow make and model? I know what the tractor is, but unsure on the plow?

Would I be correct to guess a Cockshutt 70 with those ducktail fenders? I would guess a Cockshutt plow as well with the tall racks for the depth levers.

Yes you are right on with the tractor. It is definitley a 70 standard. Could be Cockshutt or Oliver, but if you are right that it is a cockshutt plow it stands to reason its a cockshutt tractor.

I might be able to find a "modern" Goodyear farm tire handbook in the shop. They used to put them out every year. But that was probably 20 or more years ago. Definitely just about tires. If anyone had a question about what rim size matched what tire, or how much water and/or calcium a tire would hold, I could find the answer. Of course now all of that information is on the internet, but not nearly as handy for me as flipping through the pages of a book!
