Goofy front bumper

My 9N came with this, uh, interesting front bumper that appears to be homemade except for the brackets holding it to the body. It’s just a super heavy angle iron, almost too heavy to be useful as the little brackets want to twist if you push on one end of the bumper.

Any idea what those brackets may have gone to originally?

I suspect the little brackets are home made as well, likely cut offs from the scrap pile. They don’t look like anything I’ve seen on an N before.

Makes sense. They are not quite up to the task of supporting this big heavy bumper.
