Got a new baler

I bought this 640 new holland baler and got a chance to use it yesterday.

Has some issues getting it running. Didn't want to trip the tie and found some linkage bent and assembled wrong. Got that fixed and one side wouldn't grab the twine, found one side didn't return far enough. There is no way to adjust between the two so I had to adjust both and that solved that. Now it works good. With no backing up to dump the bale and auto tie its a lot easier to use than my old vermeer. Makes tighter bales too. Those roller drums do make a lot of noise, is that normal?

The rollers will be noisy if there's a lot of backlash in the drive, and idler, gears. It can sound like it's banging.

When they start looking like this, it's a good chance that they're due for replacement. Foremost problem being.......the bearings, and bearing fit inside the gear bore, are likely in bad shape at this point.

New gears look like this. This ought to give you some idea as to the wear on yours.

EDIT: spelling

Now there is a good example of classic sprocket wear!
