Got an inheritance

My neighbor was on his morning walk yesterday so I stopped for a chat. He mentioned that he has been watching all the work I've been doing on the farm with the new patio, pole shed and new truck and figured I got an inheritance and was spending it up rather than saving and investing it.

I was surprised to hear that because I thought it was because I worked 60+ hours a week at my job then cam home and worked the farm and did side projects for the last 44 years. Lol. Had I known I would get that inheritance I wouldn't have worked so much.

I did both. I worked hard to get enough to build a new house. I was going to take out a loan after it was built for the last 1/3 so I had some cash on hand. Building loan to a mortgage. I had cash for the first 2 payments, one to start and one for materials and last 1/3 building loan to finish but Mom wanted it paid off. Thanks Mom. She had given older brother the same amount over the years. She put the same amount in a bank account for younger brother, in his name to even it up.

We gave daughter the family home when I retired. We had built a small cabin for Son. I had a farm kept to rent out and the equipment I had kept back. Son came to me about farming, showed me his plan. I told him to just take over the farm, it is yours. Early inheritance so I can see them enjoy it....James
