Been quite awhile since i've been in the shop working on a tractor. Glad to be back at it. 51 8n from Iowa. Finally got the rear axle's back together new seals, 1 new hub and bearing new brakes. Engine is back from the machine shop ready for assembly. Lift and front end need rebuilt. Might get another day in working on it before ice fishing takes up the rest of the weekends this winter.

looking good, lisa, looks like you have a nice place to do the work too, i like the air compressor, mins not as big and when im using the da i hate waiting for the air to build, hope you didnt loose too much in the divorce, i had a few of my tractors hid in the woods for mine lol she got the place, but not the tractors , 2nd wife likes tractors, life is much better now

You are putting me to shame. It looks like you are getting more done in a day than I have in the last month. Can you bottle some of that energy and enthusiasm?
Sorry to hear about marital problems. Our youngest son (45) just got final in November. 2 daughters, 17 and 12. Really throws grandpa and grandma of balance.
Good luck and best wishes. Go girl!

Good to see you back doing what you enjoy. Hope everything works out. If you ever get tired of the snow come to Florida I have plenty of Ford projects you can work on! I wish I still had as much enthusiasm for them as you do

I also have a 51 N. Serial #379409. One of these days I also want to do some work on it. I don't use it too much so I take the carb off to prevent crud build up.

I need to find me a compressor like that! And a tractor girl like you, last one left after I bought a burned mini excavator, just couldn't see the value in a big machine that looked like a charcoal bricket! But had it redone in less than 2 months. Good luck, tractors are a lot easier to keep going than relationships!

We've had alot of issues getting the motor to last. Cheap crappy replacements seem to last a year or two. Nice to have the two tanks when painting.

Florida would be nice. Not sure I could give up ice fishing though. Been a pretty warm winter till recently. Finally got into the -20's

The last time we did rear axels it took all day. Couple hrs this time. I had taken step by step photos last time so was nice to reference them. The big D does throw life off. I think it's people give up too easily now days. Hopefully the kids will be alright and they won't use them against each other.

Thank you! We need 3+ more inches before we can get out. I don't mind fishing a portable with 4 wheelers but its just not as comfortable.

Lisa next time you buy a motor, make sure it is for an air compressor. As you found out the cheaper ones don't last. We learned that lesson about 30 years ago in the tire shop. Good luck!

No we split everything 50/50 I'm kinda kicking myself for selling the 860 and a bunch of implements now. Such is life.

Yup cheap electric motors will do that, the Chinese have gotten pretty good at making some things yet electrical items still are not up to par

Well, I am addicted to bacon spam thanks for the tip...

I am single and waiting for a woman to find me that can keep me up...

Send a copy of your last three years income tax returns and a car fax on yer car....

I have enough cars to work on not look'N for any to work on for free...

I'm glad your addicted. Haven't had it myself for quite awhile! Trip to the store may be in order with some home made mac n cheese. :)

Most of the bad ones have come from tsc..shocking i know. There's only one other place in town that sells them and i believe you have to buy the whole unit. We really need a fleet farm or something here

No no, farm fleet be just as bad. Gotta get a motor from a industrial supply place like Grainger or McMaster etc, yes it will cost more but it will last

"Most of the bad ones have come from tsc..shocking i know."

Before you spend more money elsewhere, check the manufacturer
and the warranty that you're getting for that extra money.
Most "big box" stores buy the same stuff from the same places.
If you can have the original rebuilt that would be my recommendation.

Glad to see you back here. I'm not on FB much. LOL

As the others said good to have you back. Missed the post. Also the pix always help when I'm trying to figure out something. Best wishes for the new year.
