Been bad weather here and I got called in to work to fill in for a couple days so haven't done much. But did spend some time on the 646 and got things working. Seems to run very well and works decent too.

The first thing I found was the points were stuck, had to free them up. They looked new, just were stuck open from sitting. Had to put a new float in the carb because it was stuck to the bottom of the bowl so hard it got destroyed trying to get it loose. The speed pedal was also stuck and needed to be freed up, as was the forward/reverse valve. I put in a new amp gage and fixed the wiring, and now it seems to work well. Will need new tires yet and the oil pressure light burned out and will need to be fixed yet. Soon as I started to use it the steering wheel broke too, guess thats going to be a challenge because they say they are unavailable. I do have an idea about fixing mine, we will see if its successful. Kinda anxious to use it now.

Good your having success with the little giant. I think you'll find it very handy around the farm and a whole lot easier getting on and off than the big ones. Anymore, that sometimes governs what I use. Looks to be in really good shape.

Nice looking tractor. Glad it was not too bad to get running. I sure like that better then this Crappy Kubota that was here on the farm. Nice find! Nick

Jon, did you get hammered with snow up your way? We had anywhere from 12-25" here in SE MN. The 646 would've come in real handy for me.

I didnt get much, maybe 3-4" and another inch last night. But it was heavy and wet. My son does snow plowing in Rochester and he just finished up today. They claimed 12.5", but drifts were as high as his tractor.

12.5 was the "official" measurement at the airport. I think Wabasha had 25". I used to do snow removal in Rochester as well, it definitely wasn't fun when we had the heavy, wet snow. I'm sure your son is ready for spring as we all are.
