Governor weights

My weight pins and holes are a little woren and was wondering if someone makes oversized pins or what to make some out of that would be hard enough material so that they wouldn't wear out quickly. Also I'm guessing that is part of the reason why some will rev up and down and never carry a smooth idle.

Considering the tremendous amount of hassel it is to get at them,,and then get it all back properly,,,why not just spend the $$$ and get a new set from your JD dealership?

If the pins are worn,,so are other portions,,do it right, do it once.
Just my opinion, Harvey

I made oversize pins from grade 8 bolts (5/16") and drilled the holes out to match. Be aware that drilling the holes in the weights was NOT an easy task, as the material is VERY hard. Good luck, Mike
