41 9n fmd 12 v when I pulled the governor off and apart I found the part that holds the gear assembly into The housing to be broken off. However the set screws were still holding the assembly in workable order. The races and balls are in good condition. Will this governor still work?

Not sure what part you're talking about. You need to get a manual[I&T F O-4 is best] and give specific part #s.If it's a part of the housing,You might be able to braze it with aluminum rod.It will eventually break, with less than favorable outcome,if left unrepaired.---lha

Broken part is base 8n18191b . The section broken off occurs around the outside diameter, there still is enough material to hold in the housing. When attached the assembly turns freely and there does not seem to be any stress. Thanks Jim

What part are you referring to? I have a parts gov. Email if interested.

Jim, it's hard for me to envision how the part you mentioned is broken - It's a fairly stout casting - Maybe a clear photo would help us understand.

At any rate, I wouldn't want to put anything back together if it were questionable. If it comes apart, it'll likely fill your engine with the metal parts and pieces and that aint good.
