HHHHHHEEEEELLLLPPPPPP,
Continal 140 engine on a MH35 combine, will not idle, I have removed the govinor and everything inside it is OK. We have adjusted the govinor per the book and still can not get it to idle. What are we overlooking?
Mike

sir the governor only controls the high rpm's and has little influence on idle . if you have adjusted it it is not the problem . i would start at the carb and your idle air screws . the engine should idle and the governer only restricts rpm so as not to over rev the engine . please give me the whole story of your problem and i will keep checking this board to assist you .

Texas Tim, what ever I did worked. This is what I think I did .Back the gov. adjusting screws out. Set throtle cable to idle. Set throtle stop block snug behind the gov. arm. Start engine. Full throtle, set gov. screws to r.p.m. Mike
