GPS maybe a tool ??

I think the GPS in my truck is a tool. It is a Garmin, not sure of model number at the moment. I have been using the Garmin program on my HP Laptop to do occasional updates. Now I want to use my IMAC computer to do the same updates. I connected to the Garmin page, but I am lost as to what to do. The Garmin instructions do not even mention an IMAC. If anyone can shed a little light on this subject, I will appreciate it very much. I feel "stranded in the jungle".

Maybe this will help.
The Garmin WebUpdater is an application designed to update the software of selected Garmin portable devices. It can be installed on either a Windows computer or a Mac computer. To install it, select the appropriate type of computer system you have by selecting the blue “Download” button.

Good evening:
To "old_bc", I worked with trying to get Garmin to download the program I need to do updates to my GPS. No luck so far. I don't recall how I made it work when I used my HP laptop computer, but the Garmin program updated my GPS many times. unfortunately, the HP laptop is no longer viable, so I am trying to download the updating program onto my IMAC. So far, I am frustrated, and no real progress.

Does anyone else use the Garmin program to update their GPS? How did you get the Garmin updating program onto your computer? Any help appreciated!! Oh, by the way, who sells Garmin GPS products? Can I walk into a store and talk to someone? THX

You may have to download the Garmin Updater from the Apple Store. Go to the Apple Store and do a search
for Garmin Updater.

Good afternoon, "old-bc" and others:
On my IMAC, I was able to get into a set of screens that are headed "Garmin Express", but nothing about downloading the program itself. Thanks!

Rather than trying to put Garmin Updater on my newer IMAC computer, I fixed the password for router on the old laptop. Now Garmin works ok on the old laptop, so I updated my GPS there. I will worry about putting the Updater on the IMAC computer some other day!! Thanks to those who offered solutions!!

Rand Mc Nally makes my GPS just open the pages. Much simpler and more accurate. Never have had a GPS and have a name that fits those letters well Great Piece of S I'll leave it there and you can figure it out.

Last spring the wife and I went on an “advenuture” drive down south looking at houses. No maps or GPS. I did cheat a couple times though or I’d probably still be down there.

You can go to this site for instructions on installing updates on a Garmin
Garmin Updates

Just for information - Anyone who has an iPhone can download a free app called WAZE that makes your iPhone work as a GPS and will load Bluetooth into the newer vehicles with a screen. I like it better than my old Garmin.
