Grading/leveling road with box blade

I got our driveway all smoothed out yesterday just before the truck arrived with 14 yards of 'flex base.' It had started raining right before he got here and the product was getting wet as he drop-spread it down the drive. I got it spread well enough before it got really wet but it will need more work when it dries out. I can see that it is a wee bit hilly. This made me wonder if using the draft position on my 8N might help maintain the box blade at the proper level so that it does not move up and down when the tractor goes over a small mound.
Would that work? If so, which position should I use on the rocker arm?

And thanks to my friend, neighbor, and fellow YT board member Zeusdog for loaning me the box blade.

Thanks!

I use a combination of box blading and scraper blading to grade my gravel road. Takes some trial and error. I use the box blade to move it around (back up the hill after it rains) and the scraper blade to shape and smooth it. Been doing it for 12 years and probably try something a little diffenert each time. Try adjusting the top link to change how much the box blade digs in. With the top link extended the blade won't cut as much and will smooth you drive.

Ken:

My boxblade works much better in draft mode for the reasons you mentioned. It helps to try & match your gear choice w/ the reaction time of your hydraulics. My boxblade is a bit too heavy for the 8n, so I have to use 1st gear.
