Grain Drill Issue

I have a JD model fb grain drill. I'm getting ready to plant hay and I am missing the grass seed tube funnels and tubes. See attached pic. Any recommendations on fixing this, replacement funnels are 30 bucks a piece too steep for me

Probably could buy a roll of tubing, even something big enough so you don't need the funnels, and make your own.

I would just use it the seed will fall to the ground without them and if some gets stuck on the drill from a bit of breeze or so just wipe it of in the filed before going home if you want. As long as there is no grease around the holes or below so the seed doesn't get stuck in the grease . Could also use short pieces of bicycle inner tube on them. Small black plastic water line and warm with water or heat gun to allow them to expand if slightly to small.

planted a few acres like this with no problems...

Is your grass box in the front or back? Back is better but will work without problems, just DO NOT set the openers any deeper than a quarter of an inch so you do not cover the seed too deep. And just a plain old cultipacker will help the seed get a better ground contact and it would place the seed at the proper depth with the openers not touching the ground

The grass box is in the front. I'm thinking of just buying clear plastic tubing, how far down should I let them hang?

I bought some clear plastic tubing and ran alfalfa seed out the grass box. Dropped between the double disc openers pretty well. I seeded into grass after I ran a disc 2x around. I also overseeded grass onto alfalfa and that worked. In both cases the fields had just been baled so exposed earth pretty much.
