I just picked up a Gravely 4 wheel garden tractor. Its been setting out for a few years, no idea how long. I am trying to figure out what model it is to start looking for the right manual. No numbers on the hood as it was repainted and no decals on it at all. It has a Kohler K301S 47692 or 3, not sure. No serial number shows. This was all painted over and I can just make out most of it. I believe it to be a 12 hp. It has 4 speeds with a hi lo trans and forward reverse handle on the right side. It looks like an 800 or 8000 series tractor. The question is do they have a data plate or some way to tell what I have and if so where to look. I am looking forward to working on this thing. The engine is free and the oil is clean. The guy that had it said it ran and worked well when last used. He has a welding shop and it developed a gas leak and had to be put outside and just never made it back in.
Thanks for now, Angle Iron

Try going to link below,in the manuals/parts list pg,look at owners manual/parts list for different mod tractors & see if anything matches your's.

The serial number of the tractor should be on a brass plate on top of the adapter plate between the engine and the trans. I have a 812 and a 8123.

Thanks for the reply I will try to find it this weekend. I worked on it a few hours yesterday and today and was able to get the starter bendix free and oiled good. Took the carb off and did a clean up on it. Good news is it cleaned up pretty well. bad news the float leaks. I was able to find a basic kit for the gaskets, needle and seat. They ordered the float and it will be here next week. I also picked up points and a condenser. It had no spark when I first started on it. I did get it to fire the plug but will still put in the points. All the shift linkage was ither froze or very stiff. Some oil and gentle heat and things are getting better. It is a work in progress. Again thanks for the reply.
