Grease gun fitting

Might be ok for some things . Too large for some things . How
do you get it off when you get 10,000 psi pushing against a
zerk that wont take grease ?

Ive replaced the grease coupler a couple times, they have a tendency to pop off when they get worn, I find it annoying when greasing a zerk you cant see and get more around the fitting than in it !

I have one. Not a 'lock-n-lube' but probably a Chinese copy from Auto Zone. It works great. Keep in mind there needs to be enough clearance
around the fitting to get it on. It is bigger than a regular grease gun coupler. Mine has always released when i pulled the lever, whether
the fitting took grease or not.

They are not all created equal, however. We had one from NAPA in the mower shop where I work. I thought it worked pretty well after we added
a lever to release it from the fitting. (It just had a raised ridge on a sleeve to pull to release it.) The other mechanic decided one day
he 'hated it', complained about it for about a week and one day he 'accidentally' tried to force it over the end of a quarter inch bolt
using a ball peen hammer. Of course it wasn't much good after that. (The other mechanic was the one who brought it in for us to use too.)

We wear out two or three regular couplers every year in the mower shop.

I actually like the idea of that kind with the sleeve if its so hard to get to youre never going to that kind with the stupid lever in there anyway

I've got a lock n lube. It is great when and where it is great, and not so great otherwise. As others have said, it requires extra clearance
to use. There is also the debate on whether to mount in on a metal grease gun extension pipe or to use a flexible hose. The flexible hose can
sometimes avoid some of the clearance issues, but can also make using it more difficult. I'm a jumbo sized mid-70's geezer who gets less
flexible every year. I find that I need to put my hand on the lock n lube fitting in order to get it on and off the grease zerk. With a regular
fitting on a metal extension pipe you can often get the fitting on and off the grease zerk from a short distance away. Having to bend over a few
extra inches or scoot under a vehicle a few extra inches helps remind you of your age and physical condition.

Its a little big for tight spots but I like my lock n lube. No more trying to hold the coupler on the zerk with one hand and pump the guns handle with the other hand.

As others said, not right for every fitting, but definitely worth it. Amazons cheaper version of Lock n Lube works just as well
for less money for me. Yes, I have both.

Got the one from Autozone, not the lock and lube brand. It works great! I have it on a flexible hose and can get into any places that I grease.

That's not the same as the one SV is talking about. I have both. The one he's talking about I agree. A pain in the rear, even where it's a tight tolerance that accepts grease, but requires lots of pressure like the fittings on our knuckle-booms. Next to impossible to pull the collar back. The one with the lever works great.

I got one and I'm not totally sold on it. Works good for some things and not so much on a hard to
get to zerk. I still keep a regular grease gun handy or a lock on extension with a regular head on
it when using it for the hard to get to stuff.

I bought a lock-n-lube kit a few years back, after using one at a part time job I had. It has adapters and
repair locks. The adapters will fit 90*, and it also has an extender that fits into narrow places that the
locking fitting won't go. Best money I spent for a while. When it started not staying on, I replaced the
locks in it-very simple-good product. Probably pays for itself in unwasted grease. Mark.

Lock and Lube here. I was also looking to purchase a new grease gun and ended up getting the yellow Lock and Lube gun. Worth every dollar. Even was able to grease a fitting that the battery gun wouldn't work on. Still need regular gun for tight places but I don't waste near the grease any more. Works great on hard to get ones when you need to know it is putting grease where it should be. I can actually keep my fingers clean with it.

i have only seen the lever style of lock and lube grease fitting connector, i have never had trouble getting it to release under pressure.

and i love it. While doing equipment and machinery service and repair, i average 3 tubes of grease a day but have done up to 6 tubes a day.

correct, the lock and lube does not fit everywhere, but usually a different fitting of straight, 30 or 45 or 65 or 90 degree fitting makes all the difference and speeds up the next time of greasing.
items like field disks, my dad taught me to use steel pipe extensions to get grease fittings to better locations, also on flail mowers. much easier to find the grease fitting when it is closer to the hole of the shield. Yes, every machine is different. A couple of dump trucks i grease, late 90s KW T800s, each truck has 60 grease fittings

I bought one years ago and seldom used it. Having several guns, recently all were emptyt but the one with the locking typ. I find
it works great on hard to reach zerks like axles on the front of riding mowers. Also on my Korean tractors that have protected
zerks on the loader, a regular tip goes on ok but can't hardly get it off. This one just clips on, press the lever and off she comes,
easy as pie. Going to find a lot more usage around my farm.
