Great Bend loader Buckets - what interchanges?

A while back I bought a 800(?) Great Bend Work Master loader that was missing the bucket. I have been using a 2 tine bale carrier on the front to load big round bales but I need a bucket for other work. What other brands of buckets will fit this model? IH 2001? It has two hydraulic cylinders for dumping the bucket.



Or - where would I go to find pieces of channel iron that I could bolt on to a bucket to make mounts? The channel iron I can find doesn't have long enough "legs" to be used for mounting.

Doubtful any other brand will be a direct fit.

I have a universal type bucket (brand unknown) that has mounting ears made out of 3/8 x 4 angle iron, 2 pieces per side, 4 total. They bolt to the back of the bucket and the holes for the loader boom pins and pins for the dump cylinders can be drilled different if needed. The legs on the bucket side are turned out so there the mounting bolts are outside of the areas the loader is in. If 4" isn't deep enough you can get bigger angle iron.

You could have "channels" fabricated from steel plate.

You might want to ask if anyone here has this same loader and would be willing to give you a sketch with dimensions and maybe pictures, so you start out with the correct spacing of the boom and bucket cylinder pins and if they are vertical or off set to each other on a Great Bend bucket. Those details can affect how well it dumps and rolls back.

Now might be a good time to consider getting a quick attach adapter for your loader. I believe Workmaster and some others do make them for Great Bend loaders. For considerably less there are ones available on places like eBay with no ears, which you add the ears you need to. Often ears are welded onto those, but they could be bolt on angle irons. I have purchased a couple of those and added the ears I needed. They worked ok as received however after a bit of fine tuning of the latching mechanisms; they are working very well.

That is not the same business. GBI makes hydraulic cylinders. The company that made the loaders was Great Bend Manufacturing. They got bought out by Bush Hog many years ago. You need to try 334-874-2700. It is in Selma, Alabama. I don't know if they still support the GBM loaders, as it has been a long time since I talked to them.

I would call KMW (Kansas machine works). They kind of took up were GB Manufacturing left off, I'm sure they could answer your questions. they're Great Bend Kansas plant is only about a mile from my house. 620 793 6725
