Never used on a car, apparently too young for that, but I do have a package of the "body shims" from HF and use them somewhat regularly for the noted alignment purposes on all sorts of things. Certainly worth the few bucks to have on hand vs. chasing around looking for a piece of scrap the correct thickness.

Yep, alignment shims. I used some on cars. I used a ton of them at work in the cotton mill. I kept a box full of various sizes in my toolbox.

Shims for aligning front ends, also body shims for hoods, trunks, and fenders. Eons ago, when I worked in a body/frame shop, every tech had a box full in his tool box.

They look like the shims that came with my two-post lift. Guess I’m something of an outlier judging by the other replies. Not unusual 😆

Auto body shims. I used them for years and still have a big box of them in my shop. .

Used to see some car frames so badly out of whack that there would be a big stack of them needed to get the a-frame back where it needed to be.

Easier that straightening the frame. Not better, just easier.

the 60's and 70's and 80's 1/2 tons till the eccentric adjustment came out. and ford you had to bend the i beams to set the camber.

If you can guess what this is then you know what that is.

i believe on them Chryslers where u had to move the A frame to get the setting. them Crysler's were something else to adjust to get them to steer straight. had to keep adjusting castor according to which way it pulled. just thinking thats getting to be 50 years ago. totally forgot about that tool.
