H farmall Question

just got home from looking at an H, seral tag was missing so just woundering what yr it might be or the area of a yr ? here's the only hint i can give you guys
It has spoke rear wheels & a mag
i wasnt thinking while there to take any block #'s or really look at anything else im not really a H person im into the a b & c's along with M's but its cheap enough

the easiest way to tell the year of a farmall is the casting date codes on the major cast pieces.
look for the letter at the end of the code. Each letter stands for a different year.
being that it has a mag and spoked wheels, did the trans cove have a channel under the seat pedistal? if it did its a '39. otherwise look for the date codes

With the way things get changed out, it could be any year. The casting codes, and serial number are Key. The engine serial # is probably close if it is early. JimN

H tractors and engine numbers were the same. If the engine is original the serial number on engine is what the tractor was.

Look for casting codes, that will tell you the year. Example, a code that says 2-19-M would mean Febuary 19th, 1943. The letter at the end of the code means the year.

1949 - S
1950 - T
1951 - W

I have a late 42 that has the cutoff steel... many of the war year tractors came on steel when rubber was in short supply and farmers wanted a tractor. After the war the steel was cut off and rims welded on.

Serial number of this one is 122068 X3B

Again like i said i dont know much about the H's i wont be in the area to look at it again for a few days, but the rims looks just like on your pic cant say the rest of tractor looks that good though lol it has a old f10 loader on it so will make it hard to move not running anyway thanks all
