This is my first attempt to rebuild a tractor. I have a H Farmall with a bad pto. I have an old style pto with the dogs and will change to the better style.

My question is the countershaft and pto in a M the same as the H? I have a M parts tractor. Or are there other tractors that have matching parts?
 
I believe there are a few individual pieces within the PTO itself that are comon to both tractors but if you are going to change the unit you need one out of an H. What is the serial number of your H? I need an early 39 or 40 PTO for an early tractor.Maybe we could make a swap.
