I did something I haven't done since I was a sprout -
I mowed pasture with the 8N at midnight. I used to
do it as a kid because that's when it wasn't hot.
Yesterday I started mowing the bull pen late
afternoon. When I heard the forecast at dinner they
called for rain today - the bull pen was just barely
passable in some spots as it was. So I went back
out and finished it. I spent all of my hours in a fog of
my youth. It was great. I think I put more hours on
the 8N than I have in the last couple of years
combined. I forget what good little tractors they are
when I spend all day pulling a cultivator with a 250
horse beast.
I could have used one of the field tractors with a
cab, radio, and the 15 foot batwing but they would
have made ruts. I think the five foot mower cuts
better anyway and this pasture is attached to the
home place so I like it to look nice.
