Kinda sad to see the shortage of Blue (or red/gray) power out there last weekend but there were a few. I'm wondering though...there was someone from Iowa out there with a early 70's 4000 SU Diesel with a Turbo added on. Used a flanged manifold off of something to bolt on a little AR 43 turbo. The manifold wasn't a weld shop put-together. I don't recall ever seeing a flanged manifold for those little 3cyl's. Anyone know where such a manifold may have orginated? Some sort of industrial engine maybe? He had a 3 bottom Ford plow on it...I saw the tractor in the big hanger, then out along the runway a few times, but never actually saw it in the field...had hoped to see it sing a little.
Hopefully we get mine going sometime, my 6yr old kept asking if we could take a tractor next time...I have a '66 4000 SOS w/ about 2500 hours that needs some trans work...may hit it with some color back, and see if it will shine up a little and leave it original, would look good with the 3 bottom Ford plow grandpa bought new with his '67.
