Hand crank assembly

I have my front steering bolster off to replace my water pump and various from engine gaskets. It occurred to me that as long as the front end is apart is would be a good time to try and free up the hand crank starting assembly under the radiator. My first step will be to soak it in Pb-blaster. Any other suggestions or known first steps? A few years ago I saw a guy who had is apart and had purchased a whole new assembly but I'm not finding the parts on this site, steiners or external_link. Any suggestions?

Also, in doing an internet search for hand starting I found this picture, looks like a big starting wheel that replaces the belt pulley.

That was one of the good things about the JD hand starting flywheel almost no where to get cloth hung up in it place if they back fired the flywheel would slip out of your hands instead of back whipping you hand like the crank shaft hand cranks like to do. Been hurt more then once with a hand crank but never hurt by the flywheel on my JD-B

28 needs to be free. Sometimes with soaking over a period and using a brass drift and hammer and jarring side to side and other ways every so often it can be freed. Sometimes a lot of heat is needed. 31 ring needs removed then ring 30 moved so pin 43 will come out. Ring 30 is thin and hard to get off without damage when rusted to 28. Usually takes heating. Any heating at 28 and 30 can weaken spring. This is how to remove parts that may not need done if you can get 28 freed up. Should add the front crank shaft comes out the back after pin at front is removed and parts I mentioned. I always have the radiator off bolster on the hard stuck ones.
