hand over carb

NAA-Chris

New User
Well I went out and put my had over the carb air intake and felt good suction. I tried cranking it a little longer and it tried to fire up. I am guessing a leak at the intake or carb. Any thoughts - NAA by the way

Thanks
Chris

If it had good suction then not likely to have a leak in the manifold, maybe a carb gasket. You more then likely have a clogged carb and thats why holding you hand over it got it to try. I'd say the main jet is clogged

Chris.......listen to old......and.......ennytime you have an "almost start" or won't start issue, (specially after chokin' yer carb mouth by hand)......CHANGE YER SPARKIES!!!

ya done FLOODED yer sparkies and you need NEW DRY sparkies. Recommend AutoLite 437's gapped 0.025". Don't throw yer flooded sparkies away, wait until yer engine is warmed up and then change a sparkie one-atta-time and the HOT ENGINE will clean and dry yer flooded sparkies. Then save'm fer then next time ya have "starting issues"......Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister
