Hard starting 8N

I own a 498N (Serial#142161) that starts quite easy cold, but refuses to start when warm. Please can someone help me with this problem.Thanks very much.

My '47 8N acted like that when I first bought it 2yrs. ago. It was a botched up 12v conversion by a previous owner & further complicated by the next one. Turns out it had a 12v front mount coil & the guy I bought it from thought it was 6v & added the extra dropping resistor. The tractor always started right up when cold but not when warm. Removed the extra resistor & it's been great for 2 years now.

6v or 12v, and what resistors are you running and what coil.

ignition switch recently repalced or old.

after warm, what's spark look like when trying to start it?

have you jumped from bat hot to coil top at this point and see if it helped?
