Hard steering 1135

Under 40 degrees this tractor is impossible to steer, all the hydralics work fine otherwise, Last year I change the fluid using what agco dealer said was the correct fluid, but I did not clean the screen, I am going to drain that fluid, clean the screen and change the filter in front of radiator. Is their anything else I should check for? Can I use a wix filter in the place of factory filter? Also where can I get a factory shop manual? Thanks in advance Animal..

I have the same problem on my 276 Versatile bi-directional. It feels like there is #140 gear oil in the steering even though I have the high end synthetic blend from CNH in the system. Works fine when warmed up properly. I've been told the problem could be an over crimped hyd line/hose in the steering circuit or a problem in the priority valve or steering motor. If it works fine when warmed up that should eliminate stiff spindles or tie rods.

just a thought, the steering all of a sudden got really hard on my 1135 one night while mowing and i could not figure out what was going on. After reading about steering problems with 1100 series tractors on this site, one guy talked about taking the pipe plug out at the base of the steering wheel and installing a grease fitting, i did that this afternoon and it worked great but i don"t understand how it could get so tight so fast, hope this helps
