A fellow tried to sell me an original 8n hat rim with a dry rotted 13x28 tire on it for $80. The rim looks great. Normal use but no sign of being rusted threw. I don't need the rim but I'm not sure what it's worth. If it's a real good deal I might buy it and put it away. What do you all think?

i have a 55 600 that was purchased new by grandfather that still has 10" hat rims, this is the way it came new have photo from delivery. so don,t say that they never had them, also have ford demonstator prints from old ford dealer that dad worked for that also shows a 600 with hats on it. so don't believe everything you read on the internet

Well my 55 600 doesnt have them and there original also.So maybe they used the ones that were left over from 54 models on early 55s.

very low serial number. have replaced the rear tires a couple of years ago and the rims are still in prestine condition. 10" wide rather than 9" so I just thought that I would mention it to him so he could try to measure the rim side to side and subtract an inch and get the width

I did a little more thinking about the rim. The fellow told me it came off an 8n. But you never know. Will a hat rim off a 600 fit an 8n just incase the fellow is wrong? He had the hat rim and a rust out loop rim with a 10.2x28 tire that he said came off the same tractor.

10" hat rims were optional on all NAA's. They were sold till stock expired. No 100 series originally came with hat rims. The 600 may have been fitted with the 10" hats on delivery or at some point after.
