Hay Rake Drive Chain

Pulled an old hay rake out woods this week. Everything seems to work except that it"s missing the drive chain. From what I can tell, I need about 4 feet of chain. I"ve only been able to find chain in 10 foot rolls. Anyone know where I can buy implement chain by the foot?

Some dealers sell chain by the foot, but even those are getting hard to come by.

Any idea what size you need? Some guys probably have some laying on a shelf.

Ron,I know its hard to buy 10'when you only need 4'.Just buy the 10' roll.Put the unused portion 'in stock'Next time you need a shorter length you will have it.That you will not have to buy another 10' roll. And you will save time and a trip to town. Most implement dealers will sell short lengths cut from a 100' roll. Its the 'farm stores' that sell only 10'.

You didn't mention what size the chain is.
I have some sizes of chain of various lengths.
Let us know what size you need.

Thanks for the replies. Don"t know the size yet. From the pics I"ve been able to dig up, my best guess is a New Idea. I"ve got some reddish paint on the gears as well as some green paint on the frame. No idea if those are original colors or part of Dad"s touch-ups. He was a Deutz operator, so both colors are possible leftover paint.
