He made it look easy....

I had to have a rear wheel rim replaced on my M Farmall because it rusted and split. I bought a good, solid used rim, and cleaned it up and painted it.

However, our local co-op no longer has a tire truck. So I called a fellow nearby who has a one man tire shop and does rear tractor tires. He came with his truck with a boom controlled with a hand held remote. Swung the boom over the tractor, put a chain around the axle, lifted the tractor and put a jack stand under the axle. Pulled the tire off of the old rim, swapped rims on the tractor, and reinstalled the tire with a new tube. No fluid in the tires.

It took him less than an hour. Quite a truck, from the remote controlled boom to push button hydraulic outriggers to stabilize the truck from the weight of the tractor. I won’t hesitate to call him again.

I had very much the same experience. I need two new rear tires on my MF202. I found a phone number for a guy who had his own work truck. This guy sent me pictures of the tires and the prices. He then quoted me a price to mount the tires with new tubes. He came out about a week later with a well equipped box truck and the tires and tubes.. He did have a helper with him and he himself made no wasted moves. He looked like he had maybe 50 years experience at it. When he got my tires off, I watched him break the tire beads. He used a big duck billed sledge hammer and used no more than two whacks per bead. My heart started beating very fast when he grabbed that hammer but, he really knew he was doing. Anyway his price was well worth his experience.
