Well I have a 8n 1951 side dizzy went to take the head off and two bolts broke off will I be able to drill them out or do I need to take it toa
machince shop? Also when I turn the motor over by hand three of the sleeves are moving up and down I don't think that's normal? What do I
need to do. Any and all feed back well come.

I am on a phone so can't see the pic good.

How loose are the sleeves.. Like bang around loose, or stiff but move. If latter, a good band of sleeve retainer will likely lock them in.

For the bolts, are there nubs above deck you can weld nuts to? If yes, protect deck, place nuts over shank, weld on, many times the weld heat helps them turn out.

If no nubs, carefully center punch then drill out small to large with lefty bits, when very thin, turn out with extractor.

If broke at angle making it hard to center punch, put a small thin stone in a die grinder and grind a recess you can punch then drill.

Keep the bits oiled.

Thanks Soundguy for the input the sleeves move up with the piston but I had to push them back down by hand. I can not pull the sleeve up by hand.

I'd get sleeve retainer and follow directions, clean apply band at top, then get them in and still to cure.

Yes.

They are boy he fine if installed correctly with good head and deck.

Napa and other auto parts places will sell sleeve retainer. Loctite green 640 is what I have used

Thanks Soundguy the resson I pulled it apart was for the valve someone else took it part in the valves one of the keeps was missing when I bought it. Had a miss I don't know what else they did but they also had the head off. Hope I didn't buy a problem child LOL

Not very easy on this phone. Not without also loosing auto fill and a couple other features that are all grouped under one option.

?lol? Hmm. Didn't consider it a matter to laugh at... I'll have to think on that one.

They do make an over sized sleeve. Mine has the thick sleeves in it. It was stuck when I got it. Pulled the head off and the stuck sleeve came up with the piston. I let a machine shop install new sleeves. He told me he had to install over sized sleeves as the standard thick sleeves would still had been loose. I didn't ask him how much over they are or where he got them. But they are out there if you need them.

If you drill a hole in the bolt there is a thing called easy out. It will allow you to put it in a hole I the bolt and turn it out. I would soak the bolts with some sort of a penetrating fluid 24 hours before I try to remove them. would suspect a 1/4 or one size bigger easy out might work. a complete gasket set wont cost much more than a head gasket set. check ebay. think there around 25 or so with metal gasket. Not really sure about your liners but if there still snug then I think I would leave them alone. To me once the head gasket is down and all bolts torgued properly they should be fine. just my thought
