head bolt nuts torque sequence on a '35 D

Is there a specific sequence for torqueing down the nuts on the head?
I've heard to always start in the center but after that I'm not sure.

good.
funny story.
I took a field trip (1 1/2 hour drive) to a guy here in Washington who is the local guru (Albert Ulrich - great guy). He had a pile of shims, so I picked them up.
He ran me thru how to install and check them. Turns out I ended up putting the exact same pile of shims back in that I took out.
I wasn't turning the engine all the way over when I was fitting them at first. Could have been real ugly!
It was a little tricky getting the feel for it. The engine was really loose when I tore it down. I replaced the block, bored 90 over, and some new pistons (new to me) and new rings, so turning the engine over isn't quite as easy since things all fit now.

anyway.
Got them all torgued and just need to pick up some cotter pins in the am for the crown bolts, then I think I'm ready to put the head on.

hence my question about the torqueing sequence. My assumption is to start in the middle and work my way out going in 20# increments till I get 208 ft/lb.

Here's another question.
I've read about priming or pressuring the oil system before firing it off. How do I do that.
