head bolt torque on RC

What should the torque be on the head bolts for a RC? They are 7/16 fine thread. The one book I have says 70 ft-lbs but that seems too much to me/

thanks

70 ft lbs is in the range of torque for a 7/16 bolt, I would take it up carefully from 50 ft lbs in 10 lb increments paying attention to any stud that feels soft all should torque up firmly and excess turning on any one would be a sign of stretching and should be changed. These fasteners are getting old.
