head light wire placement TO -30

Am seeking guidance on headlight wire placement.Want to run the wire as unobtrusively as possible,but for allowance of frequently lifting of the hood.Also need info on proper fastening clips or methods of securing the wires properly.Thanks for any help.

Here is the original technical drawing of the lighting system of the TO-30 - The stock system had the wire for the front lights run between the starter and the block where it entered a conduit (two pieces of conduit actually) that was run along the oil pan rail, exiting near the hinge of the hood. The wire just had to flex a small amount when the hood was opened. Reproduced conduit/wire/clips are available aftermarket if you want to go that way.

Mine was held to the gas tank port-side welded seam with metal clips, then ran to left headlight, across the front of the radiator top tank, to the other headlight. The very poor idea of using the hood, and it pivots for ground was a constant repairing to maintain ground.

Here is how I did my hood 50 plus years ago. I did add the blue ground wire a little more recently.
