Recently, my buddy had me set two of his loaders up, to use skid steer attachments. He also wanted me to find him a bale clamp, the style with two round arms, because they work better for filling his feeders. I found some on E Bay, that were one third the price of his name brand one, and free shipping. He said "Give it a try, for the price, we can beef it up, if needed." It arrived, and it is very well built, actually stronger than his original (which I have had to straighten). It also has two bale spears, that are covered by the removeable clamp tubes, if needed. The skid steer adapters and plates are also of good quality. All delivered in a timely manner. I don't know how they do it, and stay in business. And yes, I realize they are made in China.

I just bought brake pads with hardware and 2 rotors off of Ebay. A brand I have used many times with good results. The set cost $100.17 including tax and free shipping. I checked at O'Reilly and 1 rotor there would have been $86 before tax and would be overnight order. I ordered what I got on Monday and it was delivered on Wednesday, so had to wait 1 extra day. Parts were shipped from Detroit to North Dakota. Rockauto had a set, same price but $25 shipping and 4 days out, plus tax. I don't know how they do it either!

What’s going on with O’Reilly’s And other chain auto parts stores?
I needed a air filter for my Ford 6600, O’Reill’s wanted $118 for the outer filter, Messick’s CNH dealer price was $65 plus shipping, EBay $50 with free shipping
Needed some 2” hose clamps, O’Reilly’s 2 in a package for $8, local plumbing shop that’s known for high prices $2.50 each

For one thing, they're O'Reilly AUTO Parts, not O'Reilly TRACTOR Parts. They likely don't do enough volume on that kind of thing to make it worthwhile, so they raise their prices to make it worthwhile, or to discourage people from buying that kind of stuff from them so they don't have to stock it. In other words, either you're going to pay for it or you're going to get mad and go somewhere else.

They must not want auto parts business either. When I can buy 2 rotors and a set of pads of comparable quality from Ebay for $14 more than just 1 rotor from O'reilly's it makes it hard to buy from O'reilly's.

Auto parts shops make their bread and butter on commercial accounts that have their own pricing and get delivery. The walk-ins off the street get hosed.

Anyone ever hear of "whatever the market will bare"? Not bad as it sounds, isn't what free enterprise is all about?

yes I have. Thst is why the airlines get no money from me. They have priced them selves beyond my $/service acceptance level. Anyone remember the Champagne flights, free baggage, free upgrades, etc?’ Of course that is when they wanted you to fly with them.

Be careful with things like filters coming from Ebay or Amazon. Lot's of counterfeit filters coming from overseas that will have name brand packaging. Most of the time only way to tell the difference is cut them open and see what's on the inside. Sometimes there will be subtitle differences in the packaging you can notice if you know what to looks for.

I agree I needed a new steering shaft for my truck and I decided to replace it with a borgeson and there was a “borgeson” shaft on Amazon same looks advertisement but about $75 cheaper but I started looking and it said made in china and it was about 1/2 pound lighter than a genuine borgeson shaft
