When removing the head a couple of the studs came out with the nut. Any negative consequences from heating the nut? Is the stud heat treated? Would heating it reduce the strength?
Thanks
Monty

Monty........NO problem iff'n you want to heat yer nutts. Just watch where you squirt'em (grin) And NO, the heat will NOT ruin yer studs but throw them nutts away and use new. Upon re-installation, tighten yer studs to the center band. Coarse thread into the castiron block. Some will clean the block threads with a tap first. Iff'n you worry about block threads leaking, teflon tape or puckey works. .........Dell
