i have a 1949 8n 6v front mount, what type of headlight will replace my broken one...also where do you get them?0

If you're looking for originality, then E-bay is your friend. If so, expect to pay big $$ for it in the bidding process. If originality is not your bag, then any farm impliment store should have what you're looking for.

if your shells are intact, you can get a new glass bulb element for about 5$ at a farm store, napa, etc..

You can buy the original 6v type on this site as well as many other 8n sites. I got several that were used in 6v emergency lights in a warehouse

Any idea what regular Ford Tract O Lights are bringing on ebay these days? I think they're all the same from the later Ns through the the Thousand series. Not sure about that though. It seems like every time I buy a tractor it only has one headlight or one is mangled so I just take them off and put them on a shelf. If I bother with lights at all I just buy cheapies to put on. But wondering what originals are bringing.
Thanks

Mrbinks808.......NEBBER EBBER wire yer headlites thru yer weaksister ignition switch. It ain't built to handle it. Understand???

The standard pull-push headlite switch also has a 20-amp fuse. Just pick-up un-switched battery volts from ennywharr and connect yer headlites in "parallel". That means a separate headlite wire to each headlite from the same "ON" terminal of yer pull-push headlite switch. Simple, eh? ........Dell, the electrician

(quoted from post at 22:24:42 09/10/11) Speaking of headlights mine don't work. Are they wired
directly yo the ignition switch or somewhere else?
Check for Power at head lights if they dont work check the grounding sometime all you have to do is twist them back and forth.
If you can read continuity though lamp filiment it is a good lamp.
