What does everyone use for hearing protection while running your lawn mower?

My hearing aids have a shutdown feature, holding the down volume a few seconds will shut them off. I have the full ear molds so it blocks most of the noise.

I used those at work back in the 70s and got eat infections that persisted for years. Finally found an ENT doc that got it cured but damage was done. The company was really cheap with hearing protection back then. They're OK as long as you change them out often.

The digital ones do, but the volume doesn't go very high. I bought some digital ones last year to replace my getting ratty analog pair, but its hard to hear them over the mower. And before you ask, the mower is a brand new zero turn and not overly loud. I still use the older analog ones.

What does everyone use for hearing protection while running your lawn mower?

I use the ear muffs marketed to bang stik hobbiest with the highest db rating I can find.
Current ones are 37db
Sometimes I use the squeeze and roll, insert type ear sponges. But only once or twice before using new ones.
Sometimes both at the same time.

Echo (The string trimmers and chainsaws guys) sells a pretty good set of ear muffs. I always wear them when mowing, I don't want to continue to hear the engine after I shut it off.

Ok . I had and preferred my analog pair because it tuned in better, but they quit working for whatever reason, so I’m stuck with digital ones. mostly I just use my iPhone with earbuds lately.

3M Worktunes headset so I can listen to WGN or Cubs, whichever is more appealing that day.

I ordered Husqvarna ear muffs from Amazon, they really made my zero turn mower a lot quieter.

I use the pink plug/blue lanyard plugs I buy off ebay. They are the best I have ever used and far superior to anything else. Ear muffs are just sound chambers and are totally useless in my opinion....just go to ebay and plug in ear plugs and scroll down till you see the colors I mentioned. The plug has 3 sound limiting ridges that you can see on the posting.

I use disposable ear plugs. Ear muffs may be better but when it is 90+ degrees I don't think so. And "white rings" around my ears are not fashionable.
