Read in one of your posts that you used a PTO hydraulic pump.

What make/model pump did you use?

I'm considering using a PTO hydraulic pump to power our log splitter.

We bought both our PTO pumps from TSC.

One for the sprayer tank and one for the water buggy tank.

I'll go take a look at what TSC has to offer later today.
 
I used a pto hyd pump on my log splitter 20 or more years ago. I had to put some washers in the bypass on the control valve. After that it would work the snot out of a late styled ('50) B. Split a lot of wood with that outfit, but too old and lazy now. Propane is a lot easier and I have no ashes to carry out. I think my pump was a "Prince" by Prince Hydraulics. Good luck.
 
Thanks for the information on the "Prince" PTO pump.

Got a lot of large oak trees that didn't make it through the drought that need to be cut and split for firewood.
