help case 444 hydraulic pump

Your 444 is either a 1970 or 1971 model. If your mower deck clips onto the front of your tractor using spring-loaded pins at the ends of the frame rails, then you have a 1971. If your mower deck has a long tube sticking out the front of it, then you have a 1970 model. Over the years, Case used pumps from just about every pump maker out there. Using your tractor serial number won't tell you what pump you need.

Here's what does matter.

If you have the old pump out, then you need to figure out whether that pump is an A or AA style. You do that by measuring the center to center distance of the two bolt holes on the pump mount. If you have an A pump, then you're in luck because there are aftermarket pumps available from McMaster and Grainger's.

If it's the AA style, then the pump will cost a bit more and you won't be able to source it from McMaster or similar suppliers. Go measure, post that dimension back here and when I return later today, I'll tell you where you can buy a pump.

OK... You have the type AA pump. This is the ONLY guy I know of who sells the correct pump for a REASONABLE price.

There are AA pumps out there but finding one with the correct GPM at the correct RPM and able to deliver the needed pressure have proved to be an impossibility.

If you contact an Ingersoll dealer, the price will likely be double.

tom thanks for the info called and got one on its way. hopefully it will be here before the weekend only has to come across the state.

You would be wise to replace the spider in the LoveJoy coupling at this time. They get old with age and harden. Then they disintegrate. When that happens, the two halves destroy each other because it's metal on metal. I don't think that you want to pull the engine again, do you?

Go to McMaster.com. They have quick service.

i picked one up already from a local shop.
thanks for all your help. i also had the hydro motor on the rear end rebuilt and new hoses to it from the valve body.
