Help! Diesel overflow!

I have a IH 504 Diesel. It starts fine, but then pours what appears to be a diesel oil mix out the overflow tube. I pulled the dipstick out and it gushed out of there also. It sat for about 2 weeks since I last ran it and all appeared fine then. Any suggestions to whats wrong and how to fix!

Bad fuel pump will do that or a seal in the injector pump. Either way if the oil shows that is is to full and smells of fuel DO NOT RUN it till you fix the problem or the engine will lock up on you and cause major repair costs

So is the fuel leaking from the fuel tank through the injector pump? How is it getting into the oil? Through the injector? or will the pump leak directly into the engine block?

The pump leaks through the seal on the drive gear into the timing gear train.

I have that problem with my 900 as long as I am running it it doean't leak too bad. But when it sits it will fill the crank case out of the fuel tank. My problem was the final filter on the return line plugged and I guess blew a seal in the pump. I haven't fixed it yet I just shut the valve off on the fuel tank when not using it and have very little in crank case but I don't use tractor much anymore.

This is a very common problem on anything with a Roosa-Master pump that has several thousand hours on it. There are two seals on the injection pump driveshaft, one to keep engine oil out of the pump, and one to keep fuel out of the engine oil. Get yourself an I&T manual, and you should be able to remove and reinstall the pump yourself. I would recommend taking the pump to a pump shop at that point, as the seals can be a little touchy to install without a couple special tools.

There are two tools for replacing the seals. One is a bullet shaped tube that fits over the drive shaft so you can slide the seals over this tube and drop them into the correct groove. The other one is used to compress the outside lip of the rear seal so that it starts into the pump housing without being damaged.
