Trying to remove distributor side mount on 1952 8n,will not turn or pull out, have had it soaking for days, dont whant to brake it.Is there somthing that Im missing?

It's probably disimilair?(sp)metal corrosion,or just plain corrosion of the aluminum, try a little heat on it,be very careful though because it's aluminum,I had a stubborn one last year and it took a lot of fooling around to finally get it free.

John, I have the same problem. Have tried heat, more than I thought I should have, no budge. The alum has probably gaulled and fused together. Hope you have better luck. If you find something that works, let me know.

his isn't going to help you any, but it does illustrate the depth of the problem & might make you either grimace or smile. Guys had distributor stuck in an old Corvette that had sat outdoors for far too long, but they wanted the intake manifold off it, but distr was stuck. After too much effort, they said what the H, it doesn't matter if we break it out, we only want the intake anyway, so wrap a chain around distr, tie it to fork lift and raised the entire front end of the big block Stingray into the air. Lowered it, removed chain, walked away.
No intake manifold today. Remember this was a straight pull.......on your N, it would be a side pull on distr & probably break it off.

A lot of people recommend using Kroil to soak stuff. I have found that turpentine on stuck parts sometimes works well especially if alternated with heat. You might want to soak it for a day or so.

I just took one off of our 8N and once you remove the hot wire to it and the one bolt holding it it came right out. Guess I was lucky!

Heating chemicals can get you a trip to the ER.A welder cleaned some metal with brake cleaner then welded on it and went the hospital.
