Help Gas in engine oil

1966 ford 2110 3cyl gas. Crankcase is a couple of quarts over full. Smells like gas. Fuel pump gone bad? How do you guys fix this? Replace pump, put a kit in it,plug it
off and use electric? It still Has the Holley carb. Thanks for your time, Lowell

Yeah,
It's probably the diaphram in your fuel pump has gone bad.
I would just replace it.
Remove the generator from the tractor completely and you can do it.
Tight but not too bad.

Well my dealer has the whole fuel pump on hand for 47$. That amazes me! Pretty reasonable, got it headed this way. Thanks for your input Ultra. Have a great day! Lowell

My electric shutoff on the carb didn't work and it overflowed into the cyl. and engine crankcase, had to drain and get a new solenoid for the carb.

No, I was going to use it today, pulled the dip stick and it was over full. Drained some out till level was correct. More than a quart. Smelled like gas. Got a new pump coming. I do not have an electric shut off.

if the pump hasn't been replaced before, don't be surprised if the fittings are frozen to the pump housing, and the fuel lines pretzel on you. then you get to pull the nose & radiator to put on new lines, too. BTDT on our '65 3000.

Make sure you test the new fuel pump before putting it on. They are made in India and the quality is not so good. I put 3 of them on my tractor before I got one that would not leak and would also produce the proper pressure. Get some pipe thread to barb fittings, some rubber gas line and hose clamps and you can cut the flares off the lines if the do not come loose. It is way easier to pull the radiator and sheet metal than to replace the pump with these in place, after doing it 3 times I got real good at it.

It was one thing after another. First one did not leak, but tractor ran VERY rich. I checked the fuel pressure, it was over 100PSI and this is a gas tractor. The next two pumps leaked at the top after being on the tractor for one day. Seems the gasket used is not made from the correct material and swells when exposed to gasoline. I had no luck in finding a gasket that would fit so ended up getting another pump. Just check your new pump as well as you can before you install it. Pressure output an be tested with a gauge and pumping the pump by hand before installing it. Pressure should be between 1-4 PSI. I doubt that any new pump will be leaking to allow gas to get into your oil, but that is something you can check before you install the pump too. Hope this helps.
