Help getting right starter solenoid

I am trying to find the correct starter solenoid for my 2000 4 cylinder. I have ordered two so far that have been the wrong ones. Just went to local CarQuest and got another wrong one. The part number I am finding on the New Holland parts site is 311006 for 12V and 311007 for 6V. The parts guy at CarQuest said the one he sold me crossed out to 311006 but it appears to be grounded to the base rather than isolated ground. May return it in the morning and make a trip to the nearest NAPA and try again. Does Anyone have the NAPA # for the correct solenoid? My tractor is converted to 12V but starting system is still as it should be with the start button by the shift that acts as a safety for not starting in gear.

It may be helpful to how how common solenoids are configured. With this information you can find a universal model to fit any application. As long as it it the correct voltage.

If you have a volt/ohm meter you can figure which you have.

Thanks for all the help. I will probably order the one from this site. I was needing the tractor tomorrow so I went back out to the shop tonight, drilled the rivets out of my old one and found that it was corroded so bad it was not making contact with the posts inside. Cleaned it up and used small screws and nuts to close it back up. Starting every time now but will still order a new one.
Thanks again

ad drawing. No terminal shown for the two "Ign resistor bypass" units.

ith that arrangement, the ignition coil circuit will be shorted to ground by the starter motor! Where did that diagram come from?
Needs a separate contact like the one on right.

For 12 Volts, a Standard Ignition SS-567 will do nicely, starting at about $15 on-line, probably higher at a local auto parts store.

Circuit #4, insulated base.
