Help! I don't know what it is.

I have a ( I think a 1960's ) Ford. I found a plate under the hood with a lot of numbers on it but can't find anything about what it is. I have " Tractor Number" 6202152, Model s1014e , this number I could not read what it was for but it is 8d25b, engine 8A12A, etc..... I have one for trans. , rear, Hyd. pump, HYD. lift. does anyone know what this tractor might be. My dad had bought it and didn't ever really know what he had.( didn't use it just sat in the barn.) I can't seem to find a serial number. any clues where I could find it? Thanks for any and all help.

I believe you'll find that the tractor number (serial number) begins with a "C" as in C202152. That puts it squarely in the 1968 sequence of Ford serial numbers and this agrees with the component parts having numbers beginning with 8. If the 'unit number' begins with 'B' it's in the 2000 series, 'C' is 3000 series, 'D' is 4000 series, etc. If you need more help, post again. Wish you all the best.

The #'s may be hard to read but we need to know the correct ones to give you a answer. I agree with the other poster; that it looks like you have a 1968 tractor.

6202152 is most likely C202152. C means built in the USA and 202152 would be your serial #.

s1014e The first letter of this is wrong. It should be a B (2000); C (3000); D (4000) or E (5000). The rest of the # tells us what options you have.
10 is a ag tractor
1 is diesel
4 is Independent 540 pto
and E is Select-O-Speed 10 speed trans

Those other #'s you have are date codes for when parts or the tractor was built.
8d25b is 1968 april 25 day shift
8A12A is 1968 jan 12 midnight shift

Perhaps the Model Number that you posted as "s1014e" is actually 51014E. In that case you have a 5000, Agricultural, Diesel, Independent PTO, Select-O-Speed. This is an easy transmission to identify- is the gear selector mounted on the dash underneath the steering wheel? The serial number (C202152), model number (51014E) and production number (8D25B) should all be stamped into the transmission housing just aft of the starter.

I did not even think about that. It was in early 1968 when they changed over from using 2;3;4;5 to using B;C;D;E.
Since his is a early 1968 model it could well be he has a # rather than a letter; and 5 would fit right in making it a 5000.

Doesn't the unit number of 8D25B translate to April 25, 1968? (can't remember what shift B is). That would qualify as "early 1968" in my book.

Yes it does. B is Day shift.

Per the Oaktree site the change over was April 1 1968. March 1968 and back had #'s and April 1968 and up had letters.
But come on we are talking 1 month here. Anything can happen with those guys and their stamping #'s.
Thats why I now agree with awhtx and think his s is really a 5.
