Help! I need help with my year

Hello, I have been finding conflicting information on my John Deere D I can't seem to find the year of my tractor I keep getting diff. years. Its a John Deere D, Styled, Ser. # 137308. Thank you.

90 % of the online sources list "years made" Not the real "model year" My B, 141,### and A, 521### are listed as 42 tractors by most, but I had Deere run the numbers years ago, they are both 43 "model" tractors, but made in 42. Glad I could help.

From a point in 1938 through 1947, the MODEL year for JD tractors was July through June. So tractors built during the last six months of the year were next year's models. This is according to the introduction to the JD production register formerly available through the Two-Cylinder club and now out of print.
