Help identify power steering

Hi, I got this old B275 that had a power steering ram "fitted" by previous owner. Unit is done I think, does not really help the steering and it is leaking like nothing. I want to find out if I can find parts to rebuild it or replace it.

I have been told that it is a unit from a fork lift but with the numbers on it I was not able to find informations

I've seen similar setup's on old Clark lifts, '60-70's era, but doubtful
that will get you far unless you find a really helpful counterman.

The rod seal can be replaced, it's under the snap ring. It can be
carefully pried out without disassembling the cylinder.

Is the pump making pressure? You can test it by clamping the pressure line
with rag padded vise grips. It should load the engine and whine if it's
working. Be sure you are on the pressure line, not the return line!

You should see some movement of the ball inside the housing, that is the
directional valve. If the internal seal is bad, the cylinder will have to
be cut open, repaired and welded back together. Not easy but doable. Seals
will be available at a seal supply.

This ram is used on the original ford 4000 and on aftermarket kits for the 2000,3000, 4000, 2600, 3600, 4600,2610..... and others...however it may be a bit longer than your picture shows....

Ok, just an update, it seems that the "valve" part, that is load sensing is sloppy but when properly lined up it is working. It is just not well installed as of now. But I don't know if you can see it on the pictures, the rod is severly scored, that is why it is leaking so bad. Now I need to decide between trying to fix it, replace with a different unit or put an orbitrol along with a new cylinder in order to have a full hydraulic steering
